Sahaja is a current Junior at Metea Valley High School. At school, she loves playing violin in her school's top orchestra, being a board member for BPA, doing research with a team through Argonne National Laboratory, being a legislator in Youth and Government, and student teaching an entrepreneurship club. After an experience working on a political campaign, she took a huge interest in promoting civic engagement in her community through a blog and a non-profit. Aside from that, Sahaja hopes to close the gender gap in STEM. She mentors middle school girls for a technology competition and teaches at an engineering program at NIU. Having seen the issue of food insecurity so prevalent in her parents' home in India, Sahaja is excited to help the Obama Legacy Initiative tackle that issue in her community!
