Barack H. Obama Highway

Pasadena, California

State Senator Anthony Portantino introduced this tribute in December 2016, and it was signed in September 2017. The Barack H. Obama Highway is now official with the sign on the route from the 210 Freeway to State Route 2 in Glendale. 

After moving to Southern California in 1979, Obama lived in Pasadena and attended Occidental College in Eagle Rock. "The President has often mentioned his fond memories of living in Pasadena and attending Occidental College, so it was very appropriate to name the portion of the freeway he traveled after him," Portantino said.
